National Engineer’s Day is observed in India in honour of the famous civil engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. History of National Engineer’s Day It is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir M. Visvesvaraya on 15 September 1861. Which was declared as National Engineer’s Day by the Government of India in 1968. He contributed to many fields including water resources engineering, dam construction and industrialization of India. He completed his graduation in civil engineering from the College of Engineering, Pune.
